How to Care for long lasting wear
NIKE PRO HIJAB 2.0
Nike’s hijab became mainstream around the world and Ibtihaj Muhammed,

their brand Ambassador, even walked the runway last years NYFW when Nike unveiled its 2020 winter Olympic kit. But it’s really too bad that the winter olympics had to be postponed because of covid.
Although smaller companies have had sports hijabs in the past, the fact that a mainstream brand picked it up helped other Western brands embraced modest fashion culture.
Let’s talk about the style difference between Nike & Haute hijab

This is me wearing the Nike Pro Hijab version 2.0. As you can see the newer style is so much more flattering on my face. The older version was not as flattering with the circular front seam. The newer pro hijab 2.0 also does not have a strange center line on the top of the head. It has a layered look in the front.

It has a new interior strap that secures it in place and prevents it from slipping. The pull-on design and long back ensure a personalized fit that doesn’t come untucked while you work out or compete in a sport.
About sizing. I went for the M/L.
Nikes hijabs tend to run a bit small so definitely go with M/L if you have a normal head shape.
Here is a comparison of the the Nike Pro 2.0 and Haute hijab Flex fit (side by side view).

HAUTE HIJAB SPORTS HIJABS
Haute hijab just recently launched their new line of Sports hijabs and have created a variety of different styles and options ranging from the criss cross, the flex fit, tech cap and tech wrap. If you want to learn more about the differences of each one you can watch my youtube review right here. I talk about the first three different styles because I didn't get the tech wrap until much later (they sell out fast!)
Haute hijab took a long time to really analyze the body movement with something called Laban science of movement and since they are a hijab company, I think they understand what is needed for the Hijabi woman.

On me, I also liked the look of the Haute hijab flex fit. The style is slightly different and doesn’t have that layered look but you can get that with the crisscross version.
I wanted to compare it with The Flex Fit because it is created knowing that one size does not fit all.

It combines a pull on system of an adjustable cord inside that allows you to wear snug or loose fit depending on what is most comfortable to you.

Haute Hijab has a much longer coverage in the front and back than the Nike and slightly more stylish since you can create a nice rushing in the back.
SIZING FOR HAUTE HIJAB
I think sizing for Haute Hijab runs a bit big. So I did get size 2 in haute hijab but I could have easily went down to size 1.

The fabric of the Nike and Haute hijab are slightly different.
Nike uses Polyester and Spandex, a typical fabric used in sportswear. It is breathable mesh material, wicking capability and a DRI FIT technology to help you stay dry with a cooling action.
Haute Hijab workout hijabs do have some polyester and spandex but mainly uses a multifunction fiber that comes from coffee bean called Ice cafe. It has the ability to be fast drying, odor controlling, and has some UV protection.
Ice cafe comes from coffee grinds, which was usually wasted but then was used in this patented technology as eco friendly and eco saving material.
Ice cafe patented fabric claims that it can lower the body temperature by 1-2 C, keeping you cool, dry, and comfortable.
Price point is a big factor for a lot of people but here is my opinion.
Nike’s hijab is $35 while Haute hijabs Flex Fit is $65 . So if you don’t have the budget for Haute hijab, Nike is a great option because you are paying nearly double the price for haute hijabs sports items.
But let me tell you why Haute hijabs sports hijab are worth it.
You are supporting a muslim business who’s whole company is based on making the best product for women.
Haute hijab CEO, Melanie Elturk, really took the time to work with designers, athletes and used the study of Laban Movement to determine the best functional design. They also did more to the designs by adding adjusters and rushing to be more flattering, and create a stylish look
The fabric itself is a higher costing fabric that is both eco friendly and sustainable. You are paying for a higher end product with so many more options available. It’s easier to find a style best suited for your face.
STYLE: They both look great. I think generally on me I still have trouble finding a very stylish workout hijab that doesn’t make my whole head look egg shape. The fabric of the Haute hijab is definitely cooler in temperature than the Nike hijab. Even just touching it you can feel the temperature difference.
Both companies did a good job in stitching and making a well done end product.
I think Nike is more basic sports hijab while Haute hijab has more of a stylish item.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HIJAB

In terms of care Nike can be washed in a regular cycle while haute hijab needs to be in a gentle wash but both items need to be air dried for long lasting wear.
Wearing it, I did noticed haute hijab stayed in place felt cool to touch and I didn’t sweat as much in the item. But I also felt the same with Nike, in that it stayed in place and also stayed cool.

The length is definitely different. There is more coverage in the Haute hijab verses the Nike. I feel like you can wear the Haute hijab with different t-shirts styles more than the Nike. I also feel like it won’t come up if you are doing yoga or more downward movement sports.
For style and fabric I think Haute hijab is the winner
While both are great in Functionality and keeping your head cool.
Haute hijab is definitely the winner for more eco-friendly fabric material.
But the Price point definitely goes to Nike. $$
If you really are trying to budget and don’t want to save for a Haute Hijab, I think Nike will be totally fine for you in your workouts.
